Arizona Golden Rescue

15-086 Zoey came to us as part of a bonded pair with her buddy 15-091 Sunny. Both dogs were surrendered to us by a student heading off to school in Utah where she would be living in student housing. Zoey had extensive experience with other dogs and young children, so she was an easy placement. This dark red girl had not been spayed and had not been seen by a vet in several years. Guess where she went first? Since the two dogs were quite attached to each other, we were fortunate to find a home where they could stay together. Off they went to live with an adoptive couple. They sent an update for us:

We are delighted to add Zoey and Sunny to our loving family. We were so lonely when we lost our little Lab mix. We wanted to take the opportunity to adopt a bonded pair who might have trouble being adopted elsewhere. So, along came dear Zoey and wonderful Sunny. Zoey demands our attention and is excited to greet everyone she meets. Zoey tries to get everything away from Sunny, but she is learning what it means to wait her turn, along with many other things. They will soon be working with a trainer to learn to walk with us in the neighborhood without needing to attack any leashed dogs who happen to have the audacity to walk by with their owners. They’ve learned so much in such a short time that we’re certain they will learn this, too. Miss Zoey will continue to get treatment for her valley fever, but she does not show any signs of slowing down. Sunny is lost when he can’t find his Zoey, so we hope for both of them to have a very long and happy life in our home.
