Arizona Golden Rescue

Waffles, a purebred Golden unneutered male, was only 6 months old and already too big for his owner to keep. Her job hours and pay rate had been cut due to Covid-19, so she lost her home and had to move into an apartment which did not allow big dogs. She told us he was up to date on his vaccinations (true) but needed training, since he was kind of a wild child. What 6-month-old Golden isn’t? At the vet he tested negative for valley fever and heartworm and was micro-chipped. When he is a year old, AGR will pay for his neuter surgery. His adopters had been wanting a big-dog companion for another AGR dog they had adopted, 12-106 Boz, who is now 8. They thought a 6-month-old puppy was just the right age to liven up Boz a little and were thrilled when they were asked to take Waffles. Waffles, who has been renamed Rico, likes to ride in cars but doesn’t like to get out! It took a little while before Rico, Boz and the resident dachshund, Finn, came to terms with each other, but eventually everything worked out for the happy family.
