Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
Toby is a 14-month-old Golden lad whose surrendering owner recently rescued him off Craigslist then quickly realized puppies are a handful. He decided Toby needed a home that was up to the challenge and contacted AGR. Toby received his vetting and got a glowing report. He was, however, in need of neuter surgery. Toby has found his new home with an adoptive family and resident dog and cats. His adopter commented: "Toby is like one of the family. He came to us underweight and very shy. He would not go outside. Almost immediately he bonded to my daughter. She called him outside and he came. He has gained weight because we feed him pretty much. My daughter’s best friend’s name is Toby, so we knew that this was meant to be. She wrestles with him. He gets along with my other daughter’s Pomeranian. They will try to eat the other’s food, if one of them leaves their dish unmanned (or undogged, I should say, LOL). We found out he had 6 weeks of training from the Diabetic Dogs of America, so he trains very easily. The only annoying thing Toby does is chew paper or plastic. We are learning how to put things away and not let him get bored. He is so handsome and loving. Thank you, Arizona Golden Rescue, for a great dog!" Toby is grateful to have settled in his new forever home! |
