In early July,  AGR  was contacted by a local breeder of Goldendoodles . Her poodle had recently had a litter of 10 (after having a previous litter of 10 last year) . The breeder had been able to sell only three of the puppies and wanted to surrender the other seven to us figuring that we would have a better  chance of finding new homes for these 9-week-old puppies. We were not able to place any right away, so the AGR Health Care Manager offered to foster the four boys and an AGR foster couple in Phoenix took the three girls. Each identified adoptive family made an appointment to visit the puppies with either foster, depending on whether they wanted a male or a female, respectively. So all had met their puppy before he or she was actually delivered. All the puppies are really nice, appear to be quite smart and are growing well. All needed a complete series of DHPP vaccines and deworming. All will need to be sterilized when they reach a year of age. They have all now been finalized with an addendum for the spay or neuter.

22-044 Ralphie  was placed with an adoptive family in Surprise. During transport, the puppy pooped and peed in the crate, so the transporter had to tolerate the “puppy perfume” during the entire half-hour trip. Yuk. The family was anxiously awaiting the puppy’s arrival . Even the   grandpa was there to greet the newcomer . After just a few days, the adopter wrote:

He's doing wonderful! We love him so much! We haven't chosen a new name, yet! Working on it! He's sitting by my desk while I work. He's doing great in his crate at night and doing really well with potty training. He doesn't like the heat. He goes potty and then runs back to the door as quickly as possible.

They finally settled on a new name,  Theo , and he is responding to it well.
