24-067 Sammy is a two-year-old, unspayed, female Golden retriever. Her owner had to move to a small studio apartment, so a friend had been watching Sammy. The friend could no longer keep Sammy – he was in the military and was going to be deployed in a couple of months and could not take Sammy with him. The AGR transporter who transported Sammy to one of our partner veterinarians said she is a gorgeous and sweet girl, pretty good on leash. She had initial vaccinations and was then placed with an adoptive couple in Mesa. Their children and their resident dog, Jackson, were thrilled with Sammy. The transporter reported that Sammy had the best greeting ever. Everyone was very excited to have her, and Jackson was out of his mind with happiness. He is used to playing with other dogs in the dog park and didn’t hesitate to get her to play. She did, but also wanted to explore her surroundings. They ran and ran and had a great time. Also, in the house they were enjoying each other. They are very similar in height, although Jackson is much thinner. The family is very pleased and tickled to see that she knew how to use the dog door and appears to be perfectly housetrained. Jackson was already neutered, but we did have Sammy spayed only a couple weeks after she arrived at her new home. The family told us Sammy is wonderful, and everyone is very happy.
