24-074 Sunny  is a two-year-old neutered male Goldendoodle. He does not shed. His family was moving and could not take  Sunny  with them. The owner originally tried to place  Sunny  with a friend, but the friend’s resident dog would not accept  Sunny , so the owner called  AGR . After vaccination updates and testing for valley fever and heartworm,  Sunny  was placed with an adoptive family in New River, who were eager to have him join their household, but the resident animals (a Chihuahua, a cat, and a large bunny) not so much.  Sunny  quickly learned to stay away from the cat, give the bunny a wide berth, and basically ignored the small, growly Chi. The adopter tried to walk  Sunny  around the yard, but realized she could not control him well, so she bought one of our Sidekick leashes and did much better with him on leash. The Chi was the first to come around; he and  Sunny,  who has been renamed  Murphy , play well together now. The adopter followed up with us after about a month: 

Murphy  joined our family on November 5 th . He came to us with so much energy, lacking manners (we thought) and  an attitude that said "this is my world now." We weren't quite sure what we had gotten ourselves into, but he settled right into our  family within a few hours and showed us just how good his manners really are. He still has a ton of energy, but that's excellent for taking walks, playing fetch and mostly for playing with our 9-year- old-Chihuahua,  Louie .  Murphy  and  Louie  play nonstop and are the best of friends.  Louie  needed this (he's started losing some much-needed weight) and  Murphy  did, too. We are so happy with our sweet boy, though it truly is his world now! The cats are doing well with him, too, and he’s got all of our hearts.
