Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
Tinkerbell, now known as Tasha, is a tiny little Golden mix. She is about 10 months old and full of puppy energy. You can see in the photo that her eyes look unusual. We had her evaluated and found that she is actually blind in her right eye – she was diagnosed with congenital microophthalmia – but can see just fine out of the left even though her pupil looks enlarged. She needed lots of socialization to ensure she behaved appropriately in public. Her adoptive parents, who have trained service dogs, felt up to the task of tackling this whirlwind. They did enlist the aid of AGR’s behaviorist to help with Tasha’s issues with recall, leash walking, and jumping on people to greet them. Tasha’s now doing well with her instructions and is making new friends going to AGR Meet-and-Greets on the east side of the Valley.
