Bear, now known as Midas, is a very tall, redheaded Goldendoodle who was turned in to AGR with a few personality quirks. We suspect someone was not very nice to him somewhere along the way, which is a huge shame as he’s only 1 year old. He had some difficulties with introductions to other dogs, often barking before being able to be introduced. Midas initially was rather fearful of anyone reaching for things behind him. If he saw movement behind his head he would turn quickly in that direction – we think he may have been hit from behind. He also had the rather interesting trait of submissive urination. When he was scared or nervous, he tended to make a puddle on the ground. Our placement manager was initially a bit worried about how he would react to moving in with his new family. She needn’t have been. The adopters and their son Kevin were just the family Midas needed to help him adjust to regular life. Midas had no problems with introductions and no issues with his puddle making problems. He is doing very well with his new family and is just working on not jumping on every person who comes to meet him. We’re sure he’ll get over this quickly as well. We wish him a long happy life with his new family.
